He went on to the University of Vermont where he earned three letters in baseball and he graduated in 1969 with a B.A in Political Science. After college, Brucato attended Boston College Law School where he graduated in 1972 with a J.D.

After being admitted to practice in 1973, Attorney Brucato was employed by the law firm of McGuire and Collias, Inc., in Fall River, Massachusetts. He worked there until 1978. While at McGuire and Collias, Attorney Brucato was involved in the firm’s insurance company defense practice including personal injury, product liability and workers compensation cases. He also did work in the area of plaintiff personal injury.

In addition to these areas, Attorney Brucato did a substantial amount of real estate conveyancing work. He performed literally hundreds of title examinations on both residential and commercial real estate. He also was the attorney in the firm responsible for handling real estate closings for First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Fall River and Westport Federal Credit Union.

In 1978, Attorney Brucato moved back to his hometown of Milford, Massachusetts and was the co-founder of Consigli and Brucato, P.C. He serves as the Managing Partner of the firm. Since 1978, he has devoted most of his time to trial practice in the areas of plaintiff’s personal injury, medical malpractice, general liability and employment law, as well as workers compensation and criminal defense. He has tried both jury cases and jury waived cases in the Superior Courts and District Courts of Massachusetts as well as the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and Southern District of New York.

He has argued appeals in the Massachusetts Appellate Division of the District Court, Massachusetts Appeals Court, and in both the Federal First and Second Circuit Courts of Appeals.

In 2001, Attorney Brucato secured a jury verdict of $534,500.00 (later reduced by the Trial Judge) in the case of Fiori vs. Truck Drivers Local 170, which was tried in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. That case was later affirmed on appeal in the First Circuit Court of Appeals. In 2004, after a jury-waived trial in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, he obtained a judgment, which totaled over $1,400,000.00, with interest, in the case of Tusino vs. International Brotherhood of Teamsters . This judgment was later reduced on appeal in the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

In addition to his trial practice, Attorney Brucato devotes a significant amount of time to real estate law and small business formation. Like Attorney Consigli, he has also done title examinations on both residential and commercial real estate for Milford Federal Savings and Loan Association, Milford National Bank and Trust Company, Home National Bank of Milford, and Milford Savings Bank.
